This exciting week-long program is packed with hands-on cooking classes, fun activities, and delicious dishes, offering a great way for your child to learn new skills and make new friends.

Here's a day-by-day breakdown of what's in store:

  • Monday: Lasagna: Start the week with a classic Italian dish! Your child will learn to prepare lasagna from scratch, including making the pasta sheets, rich tomato sauce, and creamy béchamel. It's a fantastic way to explore layering techniques and work with different textures.
  • Tuesday: Curries: Dive into the bold flavors of Indian cuisine as we make a variety of curries. Your child will learn how to balance spices, create aromatic bases, and choose the perfect accompaniments like rice and naan bread. This day introduces new tastes and textures, encouraging creativity in the kitchen.
  • Wednesday: Thai Delights: On Wednesday, we explore the vibrant world of Thai cooking. Your child will create classic Thai dishes, learning about the balance of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. They will work with ingredients like lemongrass, coconut milk, and Thai basil to make dishes like Pad Thai or Thai green curry.
  • Thursday: Pies and Tarts: It's all about pastry on Thursday. Your child will learn to make a variety of savory pies and tarts, mastering techniques for creating flaky crusts and flavorful fillings. This day is perfect for encouraging creativity, as your child can choose from a range of ingredients to make their unique creations.
  • Friday: Pizza Making and Focaccia: The week culminates with a pizza and bread-making day! Your child will learn to prepare pizza dough from scratch, choosing their toppings to create personalized pizzas. They will also bake focaccia, exploring the art of bread-making and experimenting with herbs and toppings.

Throughout the week, there will be additional baking activities to keep things exciting. Your child will have the chance to make sweet treats, such as cookies and cupcakes, while learning the importance of kitchen safety and teamwork.

  • Social and Fun Environment: Our experienced instructors create a welcoming and safe environment where kids can explore their culinary creativity. It's a great opportunity for your child to make new friends, build confidence, and have fun while cooking.
  • The Week Runs Daily From 10:00 a.m. To 3:30 p.m, offering an entire day of cooking, learning, and fun. The daily schedule includes breaks and lunch, ensuring a balanced and enjoyable day. This week-long program is perfect for parents who want their kids to have a safe, engaging experience where they can learn new skills and enjoy a variety of cooking adventures. Drop off in the morning, pick up in the afternoon, and let your child enjoy a culinary journey filled with excitement.
  • All Equipment and Ingredients Provided: We provide all the necessary equipment, ingredients, and aprons. Parents can relax knowing that everything is taken care of.
  • Location: Yarrow Cookery School is nestled in a stunning 400-year-old steading, just a few minutes' walk from Longniddry train station. We have a free car park and EV chargers on-site.
