Learn to Make Tom Yum Soup: Begin your journey with a classic Thai soup, Tom Yum. Our expert instructors will guide you through the process of creating a flavorful and aromatic broth with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and a blend of Thai spices. You'll add shrimp or chicken to complete this delicious and refreshing soup.
Master Chicken Satay: Next, you'll prepare Chicken Satay, a popular Thai street food. Learn how to marinate chicken with a mix of herbs and spices before grilling it to perfection. Discover the secrets to making a rich peanut dipping sauce that perfectly complements the satay.
Create Authentic Chicken Pad Thai: Move on to creating one of Thailand's most iconic dishes, Chicken Pad Thai. Our instructors will show you how to cook rice noodles with chicken, tofu, bean sprouts, and eggs, all tossed in a tangy tamarind sauce. You'll learn the key techniques to achieve the perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Indulge in Mango Sticky Rice: Finish the class with a sweet treat—Mango Sticky Rice. Learn how to cook glutinous rice with coconut milk and sugar, then pair it with fresh, ripe mango slices. This classic Thai dessert is the perfect way to end your culinary experience.

Our instructors foster a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to have fun and connect with others.Fun On-Site Bar: During your cooking experience, feel free to visit our on-site bar, where you can order any drink of your choice. Whether you prefer a glass of wine, a fun cocktail, or a refreshing mocktail, our bar offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to complement your experience.
- Sit down and enjoy your meal: After preparing your dishes, gather around the dining table as a group to savour the meal you’ve created. It’s a perfect opportunity to relax, chat with fellow participants, ask questions, and fully enjoy the experience in a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Location and Facilities: The Yarrow Cookery School is located in a stunning 400-year-old steading, just a short walk from Longniddry train station. The school offers a free car park and EV chargers on-site, making it convenient for attendees. We provide all the equipment, ingredients and aprons needed for the class.
Disabled access: There is full disabled access and a wheelchair friendly cookery station, please let us know when booking if you require this for your experience.
