Allergies & Medical Conditions
If you have any allergies or other medical conditions which may affect your participation in any class, then you are responsible for making the school aware of this so that we may take the necessary actions and decisions to ensure your safety and that of fellow students and staff.
If you, or whoever you are booking the class for have any allergies, dietary requirements or a medical condition you must inform us before booking, so we can make a decision and the necessary actions to ensure your safety and that of fellow students and staff. Although we will do our best to accommodate requirements, our kitchen is used for many food purposes and we, therefore, cannot guarantee an allergen-free space. All our menus are carefully tested and chosen for each class. Where possible we will cater to dietary requirements however, in some cases alternatives may not be provided.

Our office hours are Monday – Friday 9 am – 5 pm, however if you have an urgent request e.g. a last-minute birthday voucher, please call us on +44 7305 002 167 and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Private Reservation and Payment
To reserve a date for a private cookery class, a non-refundable deposit of £200 must be paid. The rest of the fee of the class must be paid 1 month before the class starting date. Failure to do so will result in the date being readily available for a separate party booking. In cases where the booking is made within 1 month of the event, a full 100% payment will be due.
Existing bookings will not be able to take advantage of any newly reduced/sale prices for the class already booked.
Kitchen Hire
To reserve a date for kitchen hire, a non-refundable deposit of £200 must be paid. The fee of the rental must be paid 1 month plus a £300 refundable damages deposit before the events starting date. Failure to do so will result in the date being readily available for a separate party booking. In cases where the booking is made within 1 month of the event, a full 100% payment plus the £300 refundable damages deposit will be due. Once the event has finished, the Yarrow Cookery School, will carry out a thorough inspection of the facility and if the space has been left as it was found the refundable deposit will be returned within 48 hours. If times are overrunning and The Yarrow Cookery School have agreed for you to run over, the kitchen can be used with an extra payment charged at our rates for that day/time. Any extra costs will be taken out of the refundable deposit.
Any damages caused during the kitchen hire, must be paid in full, for damages of £300 or less, the Yarrow Cookery School will be taken out of the refundable deposit.
Cancelation Policy
If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, we require two weeks’ notice to transfer your credit onto a future class. Unfortunately, if you need to cancel within two weeks, we do not offer any compensation. We do not offer refunds.
Gift Vouchers
Vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
Vouchers are non-refundable.
Vouchers are sent via email and not post however should you wish us to post your voucher, a £5.00 post & packaging fee will be charged – you can organise this by emailing us. Those who purchase a voucher are responsible for making the recipient aware of our T&Cs.
Unforeseen circumstances
The Yarrow Cookery School is not liable for missed classes due to circumstances including weather, travel, illness, or any other situations that occur out of our control. If you are unable to attend for whatever reason and you have missed the cancellation timeline, you are free to gift or resell your ticket. If you want to gift or resell your ticket, you must inform the Yarrow Cookery School.
In the event The Yarrow Cookery needs to cancel a class for unforeseen circumstances, such as a pandemic, we will endeavour to transfer your credit onto a future class.
Merchandise and Equipment
All Yarrow Cookery School Equipment must be returned after an in-person class, merchandise such as aprons worn in the class must be returned or purchased for an additional cost. Students are expected to report, and where we find appropriate, pay for any damage and breakages.
Health and Safety
Take extra care when handling our cookery equipment and be aware of your surroundings and potential hazards in a kitchen, especially when under the influence of alcohol. The Yarrow Cookery School cannot be held liable for injuries or accidents.
The school shall be under no liability whatsoever, for any loss, injury or damage to students or their property, whether in respect of any neglect, act or omission by the school, its agents or employees.
We have an on-site bar where alcoholic drinks can be purchased, please drink responsibly and be respectful to your surroundings and fellow students. Should we feel you are disrupting the class or posing a risk to yourself or others around you, you will be asked to leave the class.
If a customer is abusive or offensive in any way to any members of our staff, or other participants, we hold the right to ban the said person from our premises and a refund will not be due for any future classes or vouchers booked.
Please wear appropriate clothing, including shoes that cover your feet.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside or directly outside the building.
The taking of drugs is strictly prohibited on our premises.
Photography
The Yarrow Cookery School takes photographs during all courses. These photographs are sometimes used on The Yarrow Cookery School website, on social media, or in a printed format. If you would prefer that the photographs you (or family members) may be in are not used in this way, please let us know at the time of booking. There is a photography check box to opt in or out upon booking which is a requirement for all.
Kids
All bookings are made under the responsibility of the parent/guardian. All parents or guardians are responsible to notice and adhere to the age restrictions clearly started on all our family and kids’ classes. Any child found to be out of their appropriate age group can be refused entry to the class or course without any refund.
If you feel your child is not responsible enough to be in a busy kitchen environment and the hazards that come with it, please do not sign your child up for our classes as we cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries from a lack of understanding. If in doubt, please get in touch with us directly.
Please note, no matter the age of your child, should they cause disruption, or should we feel they pose a safety hazard to themselves or others, we will ask you to collect them early and a refund will not be issued.
We do not have the capacity or insurance to cover additional unpaid people to be in our kitchen. Everyone present will need to be booked and their spot paid for. This includes any parents or guardians during our kids’ classes.
Property
All property that you bring to The Yarrow Cookery School is brought entirely at your own risk and we cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to the property, nor do we accept any liability to any student.
If there are damages to the venue and/or its contents the event organiser or participant will subsequently be billed and in failure to pay, appropriate action will be taken.
