Family Baking Class

This fun-filled experience is designed for families who want to spend quality time together while learning to bake delicious treats. From 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., you'll create a variety of sweet and savoury baked goods, guided by our expert instructors. It's the perfect way to bond, share laughs, and enjoy the joy of baking.

Here's what you can expect during the class:

• Mixing and Measuring: Start the day with an introduction to baking essentials, including how to measure and mix ingredients accurately. Our instructors will guide you through the basics of baking, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and ready to get started.
• Sweet Treats: Learn to bake a selection of sweet treats that are sure to please the whole family. This is a wonderful opportunity for kids and adults alike to express their creativity.
• Savoury Delights: In addition to sweet treats, you'll create savoury baked goods. These are perfect for family lunches or snacks, and you'll learn techniques for achieving the perfect texture and flavor.
• Decorating and Icing: Have fun with decorating as you learn various icing techniques. Experiment with colours, patterns, and sprinkles to make your creations totally unique.

Throughout the day, you'll have the chance to interact with other families, share baking tips, and enjoy a relaxed and social atmosphere. Our instructors create a welcoming environment where everyone can have fun while learning new skills.

Families are welcome to bring children aged 6 and over as long as they are accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian. This policy ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, allowing parents and kids to learn and create together in a supportive environment.

• Lunch and Breaks: The class includes a lunch break, giving you a chance to enjoy some of your freshly baked goods. It is a great time to sit down with your family and savour the results of your hard work. The schedule also allows for short breaks to ensure everyone stays refreshed and energized.
• Fully Equipped Kitchen: The Yarrow Cookery School provides all the equipment, ingredients, and aprons needed for the class. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and a love for baking!
• Fun On-Site Bar: During your cooking experience, feel free to visit our on-site bar, where you can order any drink of your choice. Whether you prefer a glass of wine, a cocktail, or a refreshing mocktail, our bar offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to complement class.
• Interactive and Social Atmosphere: Enjoy a relaxed and engaging environment where you can interact  with fellow groups, share stories, and enjoy the cooking process. Our instructors foster a friendly atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to participate and have fun.
• Location and Facilities: The Yarrow Cookery School is located in a stunning 400-year-old steading, just a short walk from Longniddry train station. The school offers a free car park and EV chargers on-site, making it convenient for attendees. We provide all the equipment, ingredients, and aprons needed for the class.
