Do Christmas a little differently this year at Yarrow.

Christmas is one of our favourite times of year. The kitchen is warm, the glasses are out and there is usually something very good bubbling away on the hob.

And with all of our remaining public classes this year now sold out, we thought it was a good time to share another way to experience Yarrow before Christmas.

Whether you are planning a Christmas team building group, bringing the family together or finally organising that evening with friends, a private group cookery experience at Yarrow is a chance to do something a little different together.


There are plenty of lovely places to sit down for Christmas lunch or dinner. At Yarrow, the idea is slightly different. Our Christmas team building and private group experiences near Edinburgh allows your group to cooks together around our kitchen island, with Richard guiding you through the menu and sharing plenty of useful tips and techniques along the way. Once the cooking is finished, everyone sits down together to enjoy what you have made.


It is relaxed, hands on and something the whole group gets to be part of. No one person has to host. Nobody disappears into the kitchen for half the evening. And nobody is left with the washing up afterwards. We take care of all of that.

If you have been given the job of organising this year’s Christmas team get together, Yarrow is a lovely alternative to another restaurant lunch or drinks at the office. Our private cookery experiences get everyone away from their desks and doing something genuinely enjoyable together. There are no awkward team building exercises.

Just cooking, learning, eating, drinking and spending a few hours together somewhere completely different. Yarrow is set inside a restored 200 year old Steading in the East Lothian countryside, yet Longniddry is only 18 minutes by train from Edinburgh Waverley.
