The Yarrow Family at the Cookery School in Scotland


The Yarrow Cookery School was established in 2020 by Richard and Sophia Yarrow. The couple believe that cooking should be relaxed, inspiring and sustainable. This family founded cookery school has become one of Scotland's most exciting places to learn about cookery, whilst enjoying a fantastic day out in East Lothian.

The ethos of the cookery school is to provide an exceptional culinary education and outstanding food experiences, in a friendly kitchen environment. 

Richard studied at both The Orchard and Ballymaloe cookery schools', going on to train in a variety of kitchens and restaurants. His charisma and kindness make him an excellent chef and head teacher. 

Sophia runs the online, tech and marketing elements of The Yarrow Cookery School. The couple are both ambassadors for the mental and physical health benefits that have been proven when cooking from scratch and choosing fresh, local ingredients.


We had a fabulous day yesterday learning to cook. It was so nice to do something totally different, learn some new skills and get to eat the results!
